According to data from the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2013, one worker in the world dies every 15 seconds due to a work-related accident, and 160 workers suffer from occupational illnesses. In the previous year (2012), the ILO recorded 2 million deaths annually caused by workplace accidents and occupational diseases. Data from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan at the end of 2015 also showed 105,182 workplace accidents, with 2,375 resulting in fatalities. To address these issues, ISO developed a new standard—ISO 45001—on the requirements for an Occupational Health & Safety Management System, replacing the previous OHSAS standard.
ISO 45001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, complemented by guidelines for its use. It enables organizations to proactively improve occupational health and safety performance in order to prevent injuries and work‑related illnesses. The standard also helps organizations reduce this burden by providing a framework to enhance employee safety, reduce workplace risks, and create safer and healthier working conditions worldwide.
MUTU International now offers ISO 45001 certification services. Supported by professional auditors, MUTU International is committed to delivering occupational health and safety management system certification services based on ISO 45001 accurately, independently, reliably, and professionally.
