Organic food is a holistic management system that enhances and develops the health of the agro‑ecosystem, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity, by utilizing locally available materials.
The assessment for organic farming system certification is not based solely on the final product, but rather on the entire production process—from cultivation to distribution—in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 6729:2016 on Organic Farming Systems. The implementation and supervision of organic system practices are regulated under the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 64/Permentan/OT.140/5/2013, which came into effect on May 30, 2014.
Under this regulation, all organic products circulating in Indonesia and carrying the “organic” claim must be certified and marked with the official Indonesian Organic logo.
To ensure that products comply with organic principles, a certification process is required. Certification serves as a formal mechanism to obtain recognition for products produced under organic standards.
